1st GRADE

1st grade is off to a great start!   During the year we will incorporate our faith, work on our writing skills and write many different types of stories -  including fiction and non-fiction.  The children will have the opportunity to read and explore numerous types of books, and develop phonics skills throught the use of our classroom computers. Math will include adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers, and of course there are many different hands on experiments in Science involving reptiles, forms of matter and plants.  The year is rounded out with numerous educational and fun filled field trips including an apple orchard, a musical and a children's museum, just to name a few!

I have been at St. Mary's for more than 15 years, teaching both 1st and 2nd grade.  Working with the younger children has always been a joy for me, and very fulfilling.  I look forward to this new year with high expectations of success for all the children.
