Religious Education Program Overview
REP is instruction in the Catholic Faith for 4 year-old pre-school through eighth grade students who attend a non-Catholic public or private school. Classes are on Sunday morning or Tuesday evening. (4 year-old pre-school and Kindergarten classes meet on Sundays only.)
Students entering a sacramental preparation year must have attended a religious education program for at least one full year prior to entering the sacramental year. This includes Second grade (Reconciliation and Holy Communion) and Seventh / Eighth grade (Confirmation).
Progress reports are distributed twice each year. Parents are asked to sign them and return them to the catechists.
Note: All REP families must be registered at St. Mary Parish before they may register for REP. Parish registration is always free!

| Safe Drop-Off and Pick-Up from REP
When class begins... Students should be in the lobby of the school 5 or 10 minutes before the start of class. When class is to begin, teachers will lead the students to the classroom and the front door is locked. Tardy Pre-school through Second graders may go directly to the classroom. Tardy Third through Eighth graders must buzz to get in the building and stop at the school office for a tardy slip.
When class ends... Pre-school through Second graders must be picked up at the classroom door by a parent or guardian. These students will never be permitted to walk to the parking lots or crosswalk alone.
As per the Elgin Police Department and numerous posted signs, no one is ever permitted to park north-bound on Gifford Street in front of the school. You risk being ticketed, and many have been in the past. Please park in the school or church parking lots, and always use the crosswalks. NEVER cross in the middle of Gifford Street. Thank you for your cooperation.
